What are Allostasis and Homeostasis (and why do they matter?)

Hapbee: Helping to achieving stability through changing conditions (allostasis), and maintaining stability despite external changes (homeostasis)

The science behind a Hapbee wearable is well-established, and can be found elsewhere on hapbee.com; the short version is that a Hapbee emulates the unique magnetic signatures of commonly used chemicals and compounds, providing the effects of these substances without the need to physically ingest them.

But once you understand what Hapbee does, that begs a further question: what can this technological breakthrough do to improve mental and overall wellness stability (allostasis), as well as maintain it long-term (homeostasis)?

Allostasis and Hapbee

If you’re reading this, you’re a human, and if you’re human, you have ups and downs. We all do. Some are psychological, some are physiological, but change is an inevitable part of life.

The real question is “what do you do about it?”

Typically, you might see a professional for your issues. You can’t sleep, a doctor might prescribe sleeping pills; you need to relax, one might recommend a CBD treatment; you’re in pain, you’ll get a prescription for pain meds. But all of these have downsides. Some can cause addiction, others have side effects, both physical and psychological.

The key is to treat your conditions, avoid the downsides of the treatments, and try to maintain an equilibrium for your specific issue, because it’s those ups and downs that often end up affecting everything else in your life. For example, a physical injury that limits mobility can lead to depression, which leads to lack of motivation to take the necessary steps to fix the physical issue, leading to prolonged depression, et al. It’s a vicious cycle that can be hard to escape.

The key to avoiding these kinds of issues is to achieve a state of allostasis, which can be defined as stability through change; that’s exactly what a Hapbee wearable can help you do. You can’t sleep, you can choose the Wind Down, Bedtime, and/or Deep Sleep cycles; when you’re ready to relax, Zen Companion or Time to Lounge; if you’re in pain, Strain Relief can offer exactly what it sounds like.

And best of all? The solution to your issue is both repeatable and non-addictive. Which means you can, by using the Hapbee to help make gentle changes to your body’s chemistry, achieve a state of allostasis. And allostasis is a goal that everyone can not only benefit from, but do so easily, simply by using the Hapbee app to choose the ideal fix to a given issue.

Homeostasis and Hapbee

Unlike allostasis, homeostasis is a bit less esoteric, and thus easier to grasp. Essentially, it is the process by which a given organism maintains internal stability by monitoring, and adjusting to, prevailing external conditions as they evolve over time.

You could say that allostasis and homeostasis are joined at the hip, as the first is required to achieve the second. Put another way, once you have managed to identify your issues, then treat them in a safe and healthy manner, it’s all a question of being able to repeat the process, to maintain the gains you’ve made.

Hapbee is not only incredibly simple to master and use – turn it on, choose the correct blend, then sit back and let it work while you go about your typical routine – but can be used to the same effect, time and time again. Once Hapbee has been correctly used to achieve a state of allostasis, it can be used again and again to maintain a homeostatic state.

Everyone has issues. Some come and go, others are chronic, and issues vary from both person to person and day to do. The one thing they have in common? Hapbee’s effectiveness to achieve both.
