First New Signal Launches: Try ‘Bedtime’ to Fall Asleep Faster

Download the Bedtime signal today

The Hapbee team is so excited to announce our first new signal: Bedtime. This signal has been in the works for several months now, and it’s finally ready for you to try. Bedtime is a sleep trigger that gets you into a sleepy, ready-for-bed state. It’s inspired by the sleep-triggering effect of strong sleep aids.

Hapbee CEO Scott Donnell says, “I’ve been using the Bedtime signal a lot to help me shut off the craziness that’s been going on in my mind as we’ve been preparing for this signal launch. It helps me slip into a peaceful sleep.”

Beta tester Monsour shares, “I really like the feeling of Bedtime. It’s a peaceful, relaxed sensation. Very nice to transition to bed.”

If you already have a Hapbee device, download the latest version of the Hapbee app so you can download the new signal immediately. Then doze off whenever you want.

What’s the difference between Bedtime and Deep Sleep?

Deep Sleep is the new name of the old Sleepy signal you know and love. Rather than being a sleep trigger, it’s a sleep regulator for once you’re already asleep–particularly helpful for light sleepers who often awaken in the middle of the night. Lots of users report increased deep sleep scores when using this signal with their sleep trackers.

Bedtime is the newest Hapbee signal. It’s a sleep trigger that gets you ready for bed. You’ll start to yawn and your eyes will get heavy as you gently ease into sleep. Bedtime is a perfect one-two punch with the old Sleepy signal (now Deep Sleep).

What we recommend for Bedtime is to use it during your nighttime routine. Wear it around your neck for the 20 or 30 minutes before going to bed. Use it to get into a calm, tired, ready-for-bed state. The swirling thoughts in your head will start to fade as you get sleepy.

When you do go to bed, move over to Deep Sleep. You can set it for four hours and put it under your pillow. Doze off and enjoy a great night’s sleep.

We are also working on playlists to have these two signals work together, so stay tuned for that. But for now, that’s how you can use these two signals in a complementary way.

This is also a great pair of signals for traveling. You can use Hapbee on a flight or if you have a hard time sleeping in an unfamiliar place.

Lee says, “With Bedtime, I was able to fall asleep quickly and effortlessly. And when I look at the data of my recent nights of sleep, I slept about 15% more than a few nights before. Feeling great today!”

The signal testing process

Whether you’re a loyal member of the Hapbee community or a brand-new owner, you’re probably wondering what exactly goes into the signal testing process.

First, the Hapbee team comes up with a set of candidate compounds to consider recording and making into a signal. We present these to EMulate Therapeutics, our research partner.

Once they approve these compounds, we work to figure out the best way to prepare these compounds for recording. Compounds typically come as a powder, so they need to be mixed into water or oil.

Our machine that records the signal runs at an unbelievable -450 degrees Fahrenheit, so it requires liquid helium to stay cool enough. We put the compound in the machine and then take a few hundred recordings under various conditions. After that, we select the cleanest, most unique signal from these recordings.

The next step is efficacy and exposure testing, which has shown no adverse effects in animals. Our animal testing is ethical, conducted by a third party, and meant to confirm the safety of our products.

Next, we start the process of closed beta testing, which is when the Hapbee core team gets to test the new signal. In this stage, we do efficacy testing with user feedback. At the end of successful beta testing, we push the new signal out to all users.

While the scientific process was underway, our app development team was hard at work developing software for the new signal release.

Moving forward

Hapbee’s vision is to be the Netflix of feelings. We’re planning on coming out with new signals as often as possible so our community can choose from an array of different feelings at the touch of a button.

Bedtime is the first of many new signals that are on the way, including some related to memory, performance, and diet, among others.

Now that we’ve had the chance to release a new signal for the first time, we’re tweaking the process for continual improvement. We’re committed to making each new signal release as easy and convenient as possible.

As you can tell, the Hapbee membership has ever-increasing value as more and more signals are released. It’s incredible to have access to this ever-growing catalog of signals as a Hapbee member.
